Sopore Police arrests a Burglar, another absconding, stolen goods recovered

Sopore: Police on Monday said that it has arrested the burglar and recovered goods worth of lacs from his posession in Sopore. Another person involved in crime is still at large however has been identified.

“On 19 May 2018, Police Post Putkha received a written complaint from Auqaf Committee Hygam regarding burglary of Local Masjid Shareef of Hygam on which case FIR No. 39/2018 U/S 457,380 RPC was registered,” Police spokesman said.

They said that during the course of investigation one suspect namely Altaf Ahmad Bhat S/O. Ab Majeed Bhat R/O. Krankshivan Sopore was arrested who during questioning confessed the commission of crime and involvement of one Nazir Ahmad Dar S/O. Sonaullah Dar R/O. Haritar Sopore (Still Absconding),” police said.

“Upon his disclosure /confession stolen property worth lacs of rupees have been recovered. More arrests and recoveries are also expected. The people of Hygam area hailed the efforts of Sopore Police for solving the case within few days,” they said.
