Exhumation yet to be ordered to confirm families claim that two among five killed on LOC their kin

Kupwara: Two days have passed since two families came forward claiming that their son’s were among the five militants killed at Line Of Control at Tangdhar. The exhumation of bodies is yet to be ordered.

“We have received two applications and we are working on the same,” Superintendent of Police Kupwara Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar told INS.

Even though the families claim that its their kin among the slain police officials say that no unless all the procedures are followed they cannot confirm that the dead are from south Kashmir.

“As of now they are foriegners and unidentified,” Dinkar said, adding that they are looking into the claim made by two families about two of the dead being Sheeraz Ahmad Sheikh of Lajoora Pulwama and Mudasir Ahmad of Parigam, Kulgam.

When asked that their reports that third family from pahalgam has come forward and has approached district authorities, Dinkar said that, they have not received any such information.

“We are investigating claim by two families. If found genuine bodies will be handed over to them,” he said.

Government forces had earlier claimed that they had foiled an infiltration bid in the Tanghdar sector by soldiers manning Eagle Post.
