Secretary Information visits Media Complex Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MAY 27: Secretary Information, Mr M H Malik visited the Media Complex at Polo View here last evening to take stock of the functioning of the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR). He also took stock of the works being executed at the Media Complex as part of infrastructure upgradation.

During the visit, the Secretary Information took a round of various wings of DIPR to have first-hand information about the functioning of each wing.

He interacted with the staff and sought their views on how to further perk up the functioning of the Department to ensure speedy and effective information dissemination.

Mr Malik also visited the state-of-the-art Auditorium Complex being constructed by DIPR within the Media Complex. He was informed that the Auditorium complex, also housing a mini-conference hall, is fully equipped with all modern gadgetry including sound system, projector and green rooms for organizing conferences and seminars.

The Secretary Information said that the Conference Room should be equipped with Video-Conferencing facility. He was informed that a separate building is being constructed at the Media Complex for housing the Audio-Visual unit of the Department.

Expressing satisfaction over the steps taken during the past two years to professionalize the functioning of the Department and strengthen it by way of infrastructure, the Secretary Information said the Department would be further strengthened by way of professional human and infrastructure including latest electronic equipment to ensure prompt and timely information dissemination. He also called for cadre management and reorganization of the human resource in the Department to re-orient it to the fast-changing media scenario.

The Secretary was accompanied by Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Abdul Majid Zargar and other officers.
