Overloading goes unabated in Tral, ADC assures action

Tral: Scores of passenger vehicles plying on Tral roads are  resorting to over-load and school children could be see hanging from bus windows. Even Sumo’s resort to over loading and passengers are made to sit on the roof top.

A delegation civil society Tral told INS that overloaded vehicles are posing threat to the lives of people on accident prone roads like Bajwani and Bhatnoor roads.

“These sumos even carry school students on rooftops and run at very high speed,” they said.

Earlier, an elderly was killed in a road accident at Bajwani area, after hit by a tata sumo.

The residents urged the concerned officials to issue notice to stop the menace before another tragedy takes place.

When contacted Additional deputy commissioner Tral, Reyaz Ahmad Malik, told INS that he will call a meeting with concerned authorities to stop this menace besides traffic jams.

“A massive drive against all the violators will be launched soon. Will take up these issues with other concerned authorities as well,”  Malik claimed.
