Jammu, May 2: Expressing serious concern over the vitiating atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the state due to the wrong polices of the present governments in the state and at the Centre, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (J&KPCC) Chief G A Mir cautioned the people about the designs of communal and divisive forces in the state which he said are constantly on a lookout for opportunities to strike and create hatred.
Mir alongwith Senior Vice-President Raman Bhalla and General Secretary Shabir Khan and Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma while addressing the press conference at party Headquarters Shaheedi Chowk Jammu condemned the incident which happened in South Kashmir in which some students were seriously injured when stones were pelted at school bus and said, “It is the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir State that such types of incident surfaced in the Kashmir valley where people targeted its own people and children because of wrong policies of present government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for making life of people miserable due to incompetent policies and administrative inexperience.”
Terming the present PDP-BJP government as a directionless, Mir said that an atmosphere of total chaos, confusion and uncertainty prevailed in the state due to the wrong policies of the state and the central government. The state government also miserably failed on all fronts and its over more than three years in state had only given rise to a situation of uncertainty, chaos and confusion because the present unholy coalition lacked direction in the absence of any common point in their respective agendas, he said.
He said that Congress stood committed to fight for balanced and equitable development of all three regions of the state in every sphere. He conveyed his gratitude to the central leadership of the party and also senior leaders of the state for their full cooperation and whole hearted support to further strengthening the party.
He said that the unity was the strength of the party and expressed satisfaction that the entire rank and file of the party was united and together to strengthen the party and the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He said that there was enough space for all genuine and meaningful persons in the party especially those who were amongst the people.
Replying query related to return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit to the valley, Mir said, “Congress is always committed to pay heeds towards return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit to the valley with dignity and honour and this initiative had been taken by the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh under the leadership of the then AICC President Sonia Gandhi but the present government has totally failed in rehabilitating the displaced community to the valley due to their adamant behaviour towards the serious issue and KPs are still deprived of return and Rehabilitation so far.”
