Vohra for effective action against corrupt, especially those occupying ‘senior echelons’

Jammu: Governor N N Vohra on Saturday advised the Chief Vigilance Commissioner to speed up the processes of the SVC to ensure that transparency was introduced in the functioning of the public institutions and the corrupt elements, particularly those occupying senior echelons, are effectively dealt with.
An official spokesman here said that Chief Vigilance Commissioner P.L. Gupta met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Gupta briefed Governor about the special efforts which are being made by the J&K State Vigilance Commission to dispose of all pending enquiries and to enhance the accountability of the administrative machinery.
“Governor advised the Chief Vigilance Commissioner to speed up the processes of the Commission to ensure that transparency is introduced in the functioning of the public institutions and the corrupt elements, particularly those occupying senior echelons, are effectively dealt with.”
