HC for developing Gulmarg akin to similar world resorts

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked Chief Town Planner to prepare a Scheme or a proposal for development of the world famous Gulmarg ski resort keeping in mind the best practices adopted all over the world in respect of similar resorts as that of Gulmarg .
Hearing a Public Interest Litigation a division bench of Acting Chief Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, and Justice M. K. Hanjura passed the directions after hearing Fayaz Ahmad Khan, Chief Town Planner. “We have heard him at length. We call upon him to prepare a Scheme or a proposal for development of the world famous Gulmarg Ski Resort keeping in mind the best practices adopted all over the world in respect of similar resorts as that of Gulmarg,” the court said.
“He shall submit a check list of important aspect relating to development of Gulmarg Resort on or before the next date of hearing before the Bench,” the court said and posted post on May 9.
