Six rounds of funeral prayers held for slain militant in vailoo village Anantnag

Anantnag: At least six rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain militant Syed Owais Shafi in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.

Shafi was killed along with two associates in a gunfight with government forces in Hakoora area of the district.

Eye Witnesses said that over six rounds of funeral prayers were held as thousands of people had assembled to offer funeral prayers.

“People has marched from different areas to take part in the last rites of Shafi at his native Gohan Vailoo village Anantnag,” witnesses said.

Restriction were imposed and educational institution were ordered to be closed down in the district.

Qazigund too remained closed for the day mourning killing of three militants.
