Srinagar: Authorities on Monday suspended train service in Kashmir Valley following the killing of three militants in Hakoora in Anantnag in south Kashmir.

Sources said that the train which started early Monday morning at Baramulla was detained on reaching Awantipora and while the one which started Banihal was stopped at Anantnag. “The train has been suspended now across the valley,” the official said. The step has been taken following the killing of three militants in an overnight encounter with along with police, army and paramilitary CRPF at Hakoora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Two of the slain militants include Eisa Fazli of Srinagar and Syed Owais of Kokernag. Eisa Fazli alias Esha Roohula of Ahmadnangar Soura Srinagar and Syed Owais Shafi of Violoo Kokernag belonged to well-to-do families and were extremely brilliant in their studies, an official said.
