“MHRD’s decision to club various schemes like SSA, RMSA, RUSA and reduce funds, is effecting the salaries of SSA ( Serva Shiksha Abhiyaan) teachers of J&K,” said Farooq Ahmed Tantray, chairman of the forum.

According to protesters their demands include is to delink the SSA teacher’s salary so that they will get monthly salaries rather getting paid like beggars once or twice a year.

Tantary alleged that despite court rulings there has been no implementation of transfer policy.

Protesting teachers threatened to lock down schools in case government fails to meet their demands.

“If government doesn’t heed to our demands  then we will lock down all the schools in Kashmir,” they said.
