Pulwama: Residents of Patalbagh village in Pampore tehsil of this south Kashmir district demand proper drainage system.
Scores of residents in Patalbagh, which is located near Galandar (NH1A) at Pampore, said besides basic facilities like water and electricity, the village lacks also lacks proper drainage system.
“Due to poor drainage system, we face a lot of problems particularly at the time of rains. Last time, the dead body of my father was taken to graveyard through the submerged road which gave us very tough time,” a girl Asma Jan told INS, adding that concerned authorities have turned blind eye towards the matter.
The locals said despite being the nearest place of Pampore town on Srinagar Jammu National Highway, it has been neglected by authorities.
“Due to apathy of the concerned departments, the temporary drains remain overflowing and chocked in village, thus causing immense problems for us,” they complained.
The people demanded that the concerned departments should take notice of their grievances and mitigate their sufferings.
