Gulmarg Avalanche: Dead Russian tourist identified

Srinagar: The Russian tourist who killed in the avalanche at Kashmir’s primer ski resort of Gulmarg has been identified as stanis Lav.
Aged around 30-years, Lav was killed while four of his colleagues were rescued after the avalanche swept them away at Gulmarg, the world famous ski resort in north Kashmir, on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred while they were enjoying skiing in the resort.
An official of the district administration said that details were being ascertained as to how the tourists went for skiing despite an avalanche warning. This is the second death of due to avalanche in the Gulmarg is less a month.
On January 18, a Swedish skier identified by his first name Daniel was killed while another was rescued in injured condition by police and tourism officials after an avalanche struck Gulmarg.
