DGP conducts security review of key religious sites in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 01: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, IPS; Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS and Inspector General of Police, CRPF Jammu Sector, R. Gopala Krishna Rao, IPS, Thursday conducted a comprehensive security review of key religious and heritage sites in Jammu, including Raghunath Mandir, Bahu Fort and Tirupati Balaji Mandir.

Emphasis was laid on strengthening layered security, improving crowd management mechanisms and ensuring effective use of technology to enhance situational awareness. The visiting officers interacted with personnel deployed on ground and issued necessary directions to further tighten security arrangements, plug vulnerabilities and ensure seamless coordination between Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, ITBP and other stakeholders. Special focus was laid on preparedness for contingencies and quick response to any emergent situation, reads a statement issued here.

The joint security review was aimed at ensuring a safe and secure environment for devotees and visitors, while maintaining public confidence and readiness. The DGP reiterated the commitment of all security agencies to uphold peace and security in the region through proactive planning and regular assessments.

Deputy Inspector General, JSK Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma; SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, JKPS; SSP Security, Rajesh Sharma; SP PC Jammu, Kameshwar Puri, JKPS; SP South, Ajay Sharma, JKPS along with senior officers of CRPF and ITBP were also present during the review.
