Never challenged India’s sovereignty: NC

Jammu: National Conference (NC) on Monday said the party has never challenged the sovereignty of India and is committed to the unity and integrity of the country.
Senior NC leader Mohammad Shafi Uri in the assembly made these remarks in the backdrop of pro-Pakistan slogans raised by party leader and MLA Sonawari Mohammad Akbar Lone on Saturday which particularly annoyed the BJP members.
Shafi Uri said the top leadership of NC had disowned and condemned Lone’s statement.
“The stand of our party is clear. The NC is committed to the unity and integrity of the country. Our party has never challenged India’s sovereignty,” Lone said.
