Jammu: The Government on Saturday informed the House that the flour samples lifted by the Public Health Laboratory, Jammu for testing, in response to a video clip doing rounds on the social media, conform to the standards as per the Food Product Standards and Food Additives Regulations 2011.
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said that following the surfacing of the video clip, a joint team of officers of Legal Metrology and Drug & Food Control Organization conducted extensive market survey and lifted samples of Atta along with other samples.
Giving details of the samples lifted, the Minister said one sample of P-Mark Atta was lifted from the house of a consumer on complaint basis, two samples of P-Mark Atta were lifted from manufacturer’s premises at Bari Brahmana, one sample was lifted from a shop at Wazarat Road Jammu, and two samples of Atta, one of Aashirwad Brand and other of P-Mark brand, were lifted from Big Bazaar.
He said all the six samples were sent to Public Health Laboratory, Jammu by Food & Drug Control Organization for analysis. “After analysis and testing of the sample a report was furnished which clarified that the Atta samples confirm to the standards as per the Food Product Standards and food Additives Regulations 2011,” he said.
