Only one FIR against forces for damaging property in 2016 unrest: Govt

Jammu: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said only one FIR was registered against government forces for damaging civilian property during unrest triggered by the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani in 2016 . Responding to clubbed questions by National Conference legislators, Shamima Firdous and Abdul Majeed Larmi in legislative assembly, Mehbooba who is also state’s home minister, said that FIR (156/2016) was registered in Pulwama. The name of the owners, she said, include Fayaz Ahmad Wani, Abdul Ahad Sheikh an Wali Mohammad Mango of sharshali Pulwama.
The property damaged, she said, includes window glass panes and doors.
In a written reply to the clubbed questions, She also said 122 women were injured during unrest
Mehbooba said that 697 FIRs were registered against various persons and youth in Valley.
