Srinagar: Authorities on Thursday disallowed the seminar ‘Resolution of Kashmir dispute and the right to self-determination’ called by the Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference at its Hyderpora headquarters.
Reports said that huge contingent of government forces was deployed outside Hurriyat office on Thursday morning to prevent people from entering the venue.
The conglomerate’s top leadership was detained on Tuesday.
Chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Wednesday while as JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik was shifted to central jail Srinagar after being detained from his Abi Guzar office on Wednesday afternoon.
Both leaders were invited by Geelani to attend the seminar.
