Health Care: Dismayed at SMHS, LD, Asiea Naqash tells doctors ‘Work with utmost dedication’

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 14: Work with utmost dedication to serve the patients in a professional manner, the minister of Health Asiea Naqash told doctors after being ‘dismayed over lack of facilities at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital and valleys lone maternity hospital Lal Ded in Srinagar.

Naqash was dismayed, official handout said, over lack of proper facilities to the patients especially during night hours.

Naqash made these comments after conducting late-night surprise inspection of SMHS and Lal Ded (LD) hospitals to review the facilities being provided to the patients there.

“Government’s resolve is to provide better healthcare facilities to the people and  Government is committed to provide every medical facility round-the-clock in all hospitals so that the common people especially patients don’t suffer for want of better facilities especially during wee hours,” she said.

Naqash took round of wards, casualty section, and surgical units to inspect patient care, diagnostic services, night-duty attendance roaster, cleanliness, house-keeping services, electricity back-up, sanitation, attendants shelter home (Sarai), pantry services, functioning of lift services, deployment of adequate security services, drug supply, 24×7 pharmacy services, and other patient-care services available in these hospitals to the patients especially during night hours,” it said.

She also interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them by these hospital administrations. She assured them that the Government is committed to providing quality medical facilities to them.

“Medical Superintendents of SMHS & LD Hospitals, senior doctors, officers of Health Department and other concerned accompanied the Minister,” handout said.
