Director info Muneer-ul-Islam’s brother dead

Srinagar: Khawaja Abdul Mateen (53), elder brother of Muneer-ul-Islam, Director Information and Public Relations, passed away on Tuesday.
Abdul Mateen, a former employee of Centaur Lake View Hotel and a former student leader, passed away at SKIMS Soura this morning after brief illness. He is survived by wife and two children.
Born at Nathipora, Dooru in district Anantnag, Abdul Mateen did his LLB from Kashmir University in 1992. He was the president of Kashmir University Students Union during early 1990s. After serving for some time in Centaur Lake View Hotel, Mateen took voluntary retirement in 2007.
“Nimaz-e-Jinaza of the deceased will be held at his ancestral village Nathipora, Dooru at 6.30 pm today.”
Separate condolence meetings were held at the Directorate of Information, office of Joint Director Information Jammu, Joint Director Information Kashmir and the District Information Centres to express solidarity with the bereaved family. The meetings also prayed for peace to the departed soul.
