SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 01: Taking a serious note of the dismal performance of the students of Girls High School Shalabugh, Ganderbal in recent 8th Class examinations, the Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo has asked the concerned Chief Education Officer to initiate immediate disciplinary action against the teachers of the institution.

Following the directions of the DSEK, the Chief Education Officer Ganderbal has placed five teachers of the school under suspension and has ordered withdrawal of increment for the year 2016-17 in respect of six other teachers of the institution.

“The action has been taken to ensure accountability of the teachers,” Dr Itoo said. 

Meanwhile, Director Education said continuing with its career counselling initiative, a special programme on career counselling will be telecast on Doordarshan Kashmir on 3 December 2017. He said on 5 December 2017, career counselling programme would be organised by DSEK as per schedule at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh, Srinagar.

He said a similar career counselling programme was successfully organised at Girls Higher Secondary School Nowhatta, Srinagar recently.

He said the DSEK will be also organizing special capacity building training in Kashmir division for teachers during the winter vacations. “The State Institute of Education has been asked to arrange for the training of the teachers during winter vacations,” he said.
