Sopore reels under darkness

Several villages of Sopore in North Kashmirs  Baramulla  District are reeling under darkness due to power outages and unscheduled cuts, offcials, however put the blame on people saying ‘they use boilers’.

The residents from Sopore , Arampora, Adipora,Jalalabd, Chinkipora and parts of Zaingeer  areas accused authorities of playing a cruel joke with people.

The inhabitants alleged that the electricity is not been supplying from past one week, ‘Despite chilly weather conditions in the valley, frequent power cuts result in unbearable hardships to us,” residents said.

Residents urged PDD to ensure regular power supply ‘to taxpayers who demand value to their payments’

 Superintendent Engineer, Power Development Department of North Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Baba told INS that people use boilers, heaters, geysers which is the reason for not getting electricity as per schedule.

“People should cooperate with us, then only scheduled electricity is possible especially during winter months,” Baba said.
