Srinagar, Aug 3: Owais Yaqoob’s historic victory at Brave Combat Federation (Brave CF) 107 is being hailed as a defining moment for Jammu and Kashmir’s sporting landscape, with coaches, athletes and sports enthusiasts describing the achievement as a powerful source of inspiration for the region’s youth.

By defeating Bulgarian opponent Georgie on one of the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) platforms, Owais not only brought international recognition to himself but also showcased the growing potential of athletes from Jammu and Kashmir to compete and succeed at the highest level.

Sports observers said the victory sends a strong message that determination, discipline and consistent training can enable athletes from the region to overcome geographical and infrastructural challenges and excel on the global stage.

They noted that Owais’s success is likely to encourage more youngsters to pursue combat sports professionally, a field that has witnessed increasing interest in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few years. His achievement is expected to motivate aspiring athletes to believe that international success is attainable with hard work and perseverance.
