New Delhi, July 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder and chief Hafiz Saeed in connection with the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, further strengthening its investigation into the cross-border conspiracy behind the incident.

According to an official statement, the supplementary chargesheet has been submitted before the NIA Special Court in Jammu, naming Hafiz Saeed both in his individual capacity and as the head of the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its proxy organisation, The Resistance Front (TRF).

The investigating agency has invoked multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, including charges related to waging war against India, criminal conspiracy, and orchestrating terrorist activities from across the border.

The supplementary chargesheet forms part of the ongoing investigation and supplements the earlier 1,597-page chargesheet, presenting fresh evidence, details of the alleged Pakistan-backed conspiracy, Hafiz Saeed’s role in the attack, and findings gathered through scientific analysis and extensive field investigations.

Earlier, on December 15, 2025, the NIA had filed its first chargesheet in the case, naming Pakistan-based handler Sajid Jatt, three terrorists who were killed during Operation Mahadev in July 2025, and two arrested accused. The agency had also arraigned the banned LeT/TRF as an organisation for allegedly planning, facilitating, and executing the terror strike.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which took place on April 22, 2025, claimed the lives of 25 tourists and one local civilian after Pakistan-backed terrorists carried out religion-based targeted killings, making it one of the deadliest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years.

The case was initially registered as FIR No. 25/2025 at Police Station Pahalgam in Anantnag district. Following the preliminary investigation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs transferred the case to the NIA for a comprehensive probe.
