Srinagar, June 10: Financial educator Irshad Mushtaq on Wednesday stressed the need for introducing financial literacy at an early age during an interaction with students at Minto Circle Senior Secondary School, Allouchi Bagh, Srinagar.
Speaking at the session, Mushtaq said basic knowledge of money management, saving habits and financial discipline can help children make informed decisions and protect themselves from fraud and risky financial behaviour in the future.
He said students must be taught the value of money, the importance of respecting the hard work of parents and the need to distinguish between responsible financial planning and harmful temptations such as wasteful spending, addictive digital distractions and misleading online financial content.
Mushtaq also appreciated the keen interest shown by the students and said their response reflected growing awareness among the younger generation about the importance of practical financial education.
He praised the school management and teaching staff for organising a meaningful session that connected classroom learning with real-life awareness.
The school later honoured Mushtaq with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his financial expertise and interaction with students during his visit to the institution on June 10, 2026.
