Srinagar, May 8: Member Parliament from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah has released Rs 140 lakhs from MPLAD funds released by the government of India in his favour towards improving covid-19 care facilities.

“In view of the fact that Covid-19 is spreading at an alarming rate in Kashmir, I think it most appropriate to use the MPLAD Funds released by the Government of India recently in my favour improving covid-19 care facilities falling under the jurisdiction of Parliamentary Constituency,” Farooq, who is also president of National Conference, said in a letter to deputy commissioner Srinagar.

In this connection, Farooq, the former three -time chief minister of J&K, recommended release of Rs 50 lakhs to Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and Rs 30 lakhs each to Govt. Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar, SMHS Hospital and SKIMS Medical College Hospital, Srinagar respectively, according to the latter shared by National Conference on twitter handle.
