PIB Jammu organises Media Tour to Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, March 22: The media tour organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB),Jammu for journalists from Jammu commenced on Sunday as a 12 member delegation touched down in Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The delegation was accorded a warm welcome by the PIB Lucknow team upon arrival. Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer(FPO), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) is leading the delegation as the Conducting Officer assisted by Vikram Uppal, Field Publicity Assistant (FPA).

The delegation comprising of Bureau Chiefs, Editors, Correspondents and Camerapersons from ten Jammu based news organisations is participating in the 5 day media tour. The media tour is curated to give regional media a glimpse into the developmental scenario at the national level and also provide them the oppurtunity to witness the positive impact of various public welfare programmes and schemes at the grassroots level.

In the next five days, the delegation will visit different places and key establishments like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) ,Railway Design and Safety Organization (RDSO) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to understand their functioning and get a briefing on various initiatives and projects underway. In addition to this the team will also engage with progressive farmers, artisans driving the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and immerse themselves in the composite culture of the region.

In a pre-departure brief, Conducting Officer Shahid Lone outlined the objectives of the tour. He read out a message from Ms. Neha Jalali, Director PIB, Jammu. The Director in her message said that the visit brings a rare opportunity for the media persons to get vital insights into the journey of Vikisit Bharat. She impressed upon the touring journalists to make best use of the opportunity to get insights into the developmental landscape of the country and functioning of key government institutions tasked with the implementation of the public welfare programmes.
