In a strongly worded letter on behalf the community, AIKS has requested Ashish Sood to reject the plea as his release would create a wrong precedence of convicts jailed for heinous crime like Rape and murder.

“We raise strong objections to the review that was rejected earlier also. The release of Santosh Kumar Singh would send a chilling signal across India” said Ravinder Pandita , President AIKS.

It was in 2006 that Delhi High Court judgment-following days of national uproar, awarded the sentence. The Delhi sentencing Remission policy 2004 requires a minimum of 14 years of actual imprisonment for life convicts whose death sentences are commuted.

Earlier, many other socio political organizations also submitted a similar memorandum to the minister.
