Srinagar, Jun 20: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather forecast, indicating a shift from ongoing heatwave conditions to widespread rains and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir, starting from June 21.
According to the forecast, June 20 will remain mostly hot and dry, with heatwave to severe heatwave conditions at isolated places. However, there is a chance of a brief spell of rain or thundershower in some areas.
From June 21 to 22, the region is expected to witness generally cloudy weather with intermittent rain and thunderstorms at many places. Some areas may experience intense rainfall.

June 23 and 24 may bring brief rain or thundershowers at scattered locations, while from June 25 to 27, many areas are likely to see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.
Between June 28 and 30, the weather will remain unstable with a possibility of intermittent rain or thundershowers at scattered places.
In an Advisory Metrological Department advised farmers to complete all farming operations by June 20.
There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain, especially in the Jammu Division from June 21–22 and June 25–27.
They warned of potential flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in hilly and vulnerable areas.
