Season’s first snowfall expected in J&K from October 8

Srinagar, Oct 01: Jammu and Kashmir is expected to witness the season’s major rain and snowfall from October 08 to October 11.

“Mostly dry weather is expected until October 05 across the J&K. Afterwards indications of strong Western Disturbance may affect Jammu & Kashmir during 08–11 October,” Kashmir Weather Forecast said.

The forecast further stated that the season’s first major spell of rain and snowfall is possible across J&K during this period current possibility (55%). “Snowfall is mainly expected over higher reaches, while rain may occur in plains and lower areas.”

“This is an early indication, and the exact timing and intensity may change as the system gets closer. More updates will be shared as the dates come closer.”
