IGP Sujit Kumar reviews security grid in Central Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 16: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting of Central Kashmir Range at PCR Kashmir.

In a statement, the police said that the meeting was attended by DIG CKR Srinagar, SSPs of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, SPs of Srinagar and Budgam, all SDPOs and other senior officers.

Officers briefed the IGP about the prevailing security situation in their respective areas and the security grid put in place to maintain peace and public order.

During the meeting, the IGP reviewed the overall security grid and preparedness across Central Kashmir Range with focus on deployment and operational readiness of personnel.

IGP Kumar stressed the need to enhance counter-insurgency operations, area domination, intensify naka checking at vulnerable locations and strengthen checking and surveillance along inter-district borders.

He directed officers to ensure security arrangements remain dynamic and responsive to any emerging situation and emphasized regular assessment and timely strengthening of deployments wherever required.

He also asked officers to remain vigilant and ensure all preventive measures are in place for maintaining peace and public safety.

The meeting concluded with directions to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, strengthen preventive security measures and ensure close coordination among field formations for maintaining a peaceful and secure environment across Central Kashmir Range.
