The proposed legislations cover a range of issues, including tribunal reforms, regulation of mining and minerals, alteration of Kerala’s name, and amendments to the National Co-operative Development Corporation Act.

Among the Bills listed for introduction is the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, which will be moved by Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. The Bill seeks to strengthen the efficiency, independence, transparency and uniformity in the qualifications, appointment and service conditions of chairpersons and members of various tribunals.

The proposed legislation also contains provisions concerning the administration and functioning of tribunals, including a proposal for the establishment of a National Tribunals Commission, along with consequential amendments to relevant laws.

The second legislation on the agenda is the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, which will be introduced by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. The Bill seeks to further amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

The other two Bills are scheduled to be introduced by Amit Shah, who holds the portfolios of Home Affairs and Cooperation.

The Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026 proposes to formally change the name of the State of Kerala to Keralam. The proposal follows the Union Cabinet’s approval of the name change and subsequent consideration of the matter by the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
