Srinagar, June 17: At least two persons were killed and several others injured in a road accident in the Aru area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.

Officials said that a vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-6737 skidded off the road near Gudkhoom on the Aru–Pahalgam route, resulting in the on-the-spot death of two persons and injuries to several others.

They said the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the identities of the deceased were being ascertained.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. (KNO)
