Banihal, May 11: National Conference leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, Monday laid the foundation stone for the development of Tata Pani Bath Ghat being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹2.5 Crore and also inaugurated the ₹3.52 Crore newly constructed High School Building at Sumar, reaffirming his commitment towards accelerating developmental activities and strengthening public infrastructure across Banihal-Gool constituency.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shaheen stated that Banihal-Gool constituency will no longer lag behind on the developmental front and that focused efforts are being made to ensure balanced and inclusive development in every sector, particularly in far-flung and previously neglected areas.

The MLA said that Tata Pani possesses immense natural and tourism potential and is now being developed as a health and wellness destination to attract visitors and provide better facilities to local residents as well as tourists. He emphasized that the natural hot water springs of Tata Pani are known for their therapeutic significance and can emerge as an important attraction for wellness tourism in the region.

He stated that the development of the Bath Ghat will improve public convenience and infrastructure at the site besides generating livelihood and economic opportunities for local residents through tourism-related activities.

While inaugurating the High School Building at Sumar, Shaheen said that strengthening educational infrastructure remains among the top priorities of his agenda. He added that quality education and modern school infrastructure are essential for empowering the youth and ensuring a brighter future for the coming generations.

The MLA further highlighted that major initiatives have been undertaken in the education sector across Banihal-Gool constituency, including the provision of digital smart boards in all Higher Secondary and High Schools, along with continuous improvement of infrastructure in educational institutions to provide modern and dignified learning facilities to students.

Mr. Shaheen reiterated that the present government is committed to strengthening road connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism, and other essential sectors across the constituency. He added that several developmental projects are currently under execution while many more are in the pipeline and will be taken up in a phased manner.

He assured the people that every effort would be made to ensure that developmental benefits reach every corner of the constituency and that no area remains deprived of basic infrastructure and public facilities.

Prominent citizens, local residents, officers, and party functionaries were present on the occasion. Former DDC Chairperson Shamshada Shan,
CEO I/C Ramban Shakeel Runyal, Executive Engineer R&B Ramban, besides prominent party functionaries were present on the occasion.
