Interacting with media on the sidelines of Baisakhi celebrations at a Gurudwara, IGP extended warm wishes to the Sikh community and reaffirmed the police’s commitment towards maintaining peace and social harmony.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been actively pursuing a mission-mode approach against drug abuse and will now step up operations to target peddlers, smugglers and all those involved in the illegal trade.

Birdi asserted that strict legal measures will be enforced against offenders to curb the growing threat of narcotics and ensure a safer society.

Stressing the importance of youth participation, he urged young people to stay disciplined and avoid substance abuse, saying their role is crucial in building a healthy and progressive society.

“Youth must stay away from drugs and focus on contributing positively to society and the nation,” he added. (KNC)
