Srinagar, Apr 3: The government on Friday ordered time-bound magistratial inquiry into killing of Ganderbal man during encounter in Arahama Ganderbal.

According to an order, issued by home department, District Magistrate Ganderbal has been directed to complete the inquiry within 7 days.

“Kindly refer to the encounter that took place at Arhama Ganderbal on 01.04.2026 resulting in the death of Raashid Ahmad Mughal S/o Late Gull Zaman Mughal R/o Chuntwaliwar Lar, Ganderbal.

The issue has been examined and accordingly, you are requested to get a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry conducted into the matter to ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Raashid Ahmad Mughal S/o Late Gull Zaman Mughal. The inquiry may be completed within a period of seven (07) days and the report be submitted to the Home Department, reads the orders.

The order comes day after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his party colleague and MP Agha Rahullah as well as PDP Chief expressed concern over the incident and demanded impartial inquiry.
