The announcement was made during proceedings in the Legislative Assembly, where the Chief Minister outlined the administration’s approach to hiring and ongoing discussions on the issue.

Abdullah said the matter has been discussed extensively in the Assembly, including during debates on the Lieutenant Governor’s address, the budget, and departmental grants.

Responding to concerns raised by legislators, including PDP MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, the Chief Minister said the government is focused on ensuring that recruitment is conducted in a structured and accountable manner.

“We are committed to completing recruitment for 25,000 posts this year,” Abdullah said, according to proceedings of the House.

He said the administration aims to ensure that the process is both transparent and time-bound, while avoiding procedural lapses that could delay outcomes.

“Time-bound does not mean rushing the process,” he said, adding that undue haste in recruitment could lead to legal challenges and setbacks.

Abdullah cautioned that previous recruitment processes had faced court interventions, resulting in delays and complications for candidates.

“In several instances, selection lists were challenged in courts, and the process got delayed. Some candidates even crossed the age limit and lost their opportunity,” he said.

He said the government intends to maintain a balance between efficiency and fairness to ensure that recruitment exercises are legally sound and sustainable.
