DGP reviews security, CT operations, Law & Order scenario in Awantipora

Srinagar, Mar 07: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Saturday to assess the overall security scenario, counter-terror (CT) operations and law & order situation in Police District Awantipora.

The meeting was held at the District Police Office Awantipora and was attended by senior officers including Special DG Coordination PHQ J&K S.J.M. Gillani, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi, DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Awantipora, Addl. SP Awantipora, all SDPOs and DySPs of SOG.

During the meeting, the DGP reviewed the prevailing security situation with special focus on ongoing counter-terror operations, including both kinetic and non-kinetic measures. He also took stock of the steps being taken to curb drug abuse and other criminal activities in the district.

The DGP stressed the need to intensify the drive against anti-national elements, drugs and crime, directing officers to take strict and effective action against those involved in unlawful activities.

He further emphasized strong coordination among security agencies, intelligence-based operations and proactive policing to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Appreciating the efforts of officers and jawans, the DGP urged all ranks to remain vigilant, disciplined and mission-oriented while performing their duties, officials said.
