Prez appoints new Governors, LGs

Srinagar, Mar 05: The President of India has approved a series of new appointments and transfers of Governors and Lieutenant Governors across several states and Union Territories, marking a significant administrative reshuffle.

According to official details, Shiv Pratap Shukla, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana. Meanwhile, Jishnu Dev Varma, who was serving as the Governor of Telangana, has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.

Senior political leader Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland. In another key appointment, Lt. General (Retired) Syed Ata Hasnain has been named the new Governor of Bihar.

Additionally, R. N. Ravi, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, currently serving as Governor of Kerala, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu until further arrangements are made.

In the Union Territories, Kavinder Gupta, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
Furthermore, Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates they will assume charge of their respective offices.
