AIKS celebrates International Mother Tongue Day in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 21: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) Regd organised International Mother Tongue Day event at Samavar,Pamposh enclave Greater Kailash New Delhi on Saturday.

The event was supported by CKLLC which included release of kashmiri books titled ‘Andrim zarab’ by Sohan Lal Kaul, Parag lalleshwari by P N Raina and dictionary of Kashmiri to Hindi & Urdu by Shalini Rajwanshi, central Hindi directorate, ministry of education & Mishra ji of directorate.

The chief guest was Shah Faesal IAS, Director IGNCA who is also Dy secretary in ministry of culture. The chief guest thanked AIKS president Ravinder Pandita for organising such an event to preserve & highlight mother language particularly sharda lipi.

In his inaugural address, Ravinder Pandita president AIKS threw light on preservation of mother tongue.

At the event prominent personalities were awarded that included Ravinder Bhan of Ravimech fame, Shalini Rajwanshi, Dr Anil Vaishnavi, noted sufi singer Dhananjay koul.

On this occasion, a special issue of NAAD was released by chief guest. AIKS in the 45th year has been celebrating IMTD every year. A large number of people including Kashmiri Pandits were present.
