Based on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, suspicious movement was detected in the general area of Nathua Tibba in Sundarbani sector during the early hours of the day, officials said.

Alert troops of Indian Army responded with swift and calibrated fire, successfully thwarting the infiltration bid, they said.

The Army said its troops have been suitably repositioned and re-oriented to ensure effective domination of the area through integrated ground and aerial surveillance.

A high level of operational alert has been maintained across the sector to prevent any further infiltration attempts, officials added. (KNC)
