As per the calendar, the session will begin on February 2 with the address of the Lieutenant Governor to the House, formally setting the tone for the session. The address will be followed by a multi day discussion on the Motion of Thanks, along with the government’s reply.

Financial business is set to form the core of the session’s proceedings. The calendar provides for the presentation of the Annual Financial Statement of Expenditure for 2026–27 along with the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2025–26 on February 6. This will be followed by a general discussion on the Budget and the government’s response.

The provisional schedule further earmarks several sittings in February for detailed discussions on Demands for Grants, with breaks and holidays to be observed as separately notified.

In March 2026, the Assembly is scheduled to take up Appropriation Bills, other government business, and a series of Private Members’ Bills and Private Members’ Resolutions, indicating an active legislative phase beyond financial matters.

The April segment of the session will continue with consideration of Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions alongside pending government business. April 3 has been marked as a holiday on account of Good Friday.

Officials said the provisional calendar provides a structured roadmap for the Assembly’s work over the next three months, signalling a packed session with key policy decisions, budgetary approvals and legislative initiatives lined up for deliberation.
