DGP J&K Awards Commendation Medals to 478 Police Personnel for Exemplary Service in 2025

Jammu, Jan 2: In a major recognition of outstanding professionalism and dedication, Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir has awarded the DG-P’s Commendation Medal and Certificate to as many as 478 police personnel drawn from different ranks and units across the Union Territory for their exemplary service during the year 2025.

According to Order No. 4819 of 2025, issued by the Headquarters of J&K Police, the awardees include senior IPS officers, gazetted officers, subordinate officers and personnel from the Armed, Jammu and Kashmir Zones, Crime Branch, Security, Traffic, PHQ, SDRF and other specialised wings.

Among the senior officers honoured are SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh (Kashmir Zone), SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary (Kashmir Zone), SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar (Jammu Zone), besides several SPs, Additional SPs and DSPs who played key roles in maintaining law and order, counter-terrorism, crime control and public safety.

The list further comprises Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, ASIs, Head Constables, Selection Grade Constables, Constables and Followers, recognising their sustained commitment, courage and dedication while discharging duties under challenging conditions.

Among those honoured are SP Hariprasad K.K. (IPS), SP Kartik Shrotnya (IPS), SP Tanweer Ahmad Dar of the Kashmir Zone, SP (M) Latif Ahmed of the Jammu Zone, SP Mukund Tibeewal (IPS), Additional SP Vinod Kumar, Additional SP Mohd Aslam from the Jammu Zone have also been conferred the commendation.

The award has further been granted to ASP Vaibhav Meena (IPS) from Kashmir Zone, in recognition of their professionalism, dedication to duty and outstanding contribution to policing and public service.

Several Deputy Superintendents of Police were honoured for their outstanding contributions during the year 2025 include, DSP Mohammad Yesser Parrey (JKPS125791) of the Kashmir Zone and DSP Bhupinder Kumar (JKPS125099) from Technical Services were recognised for their professional excellence and dedication to duty.

DSP Zakir Shaheen Mirza (EXJ956114) of the Armed Zone, DSP Arif Hussain Malik (JKPS155773) of the Kashmir Zone, and DSP Faizan Ali (JKPS185682) of the Kashmir Zone were also awarded for their meritorious service and commitment to maintaining law and order.

The commendation further included DSP Rohit Kumar (JKPS185683) of PHQ, Kashmir Zone, DSP Mohd Ashril (JKPS185687), and DSP Shakir Hassan (JKPS205840) of the Kashmir Zone, acknowledging their consistent performance and operational effectiveness.

DSP Mubashir Niaz (JKPS205947) of the Kashmir Zone and DSP Vikram Nag (JKPS205963) of ADER were honoured for their significant role in strengthening policing mechanisms. DSP Rajeev Raina (JKP5206950) and DSP Rai Kumar Koul (EXJ955636) of the Kashmir Zone were also among the awardees.

Additionally, DSP Bhutlu Choudhary (EXJ965663) of the Armed Zone, DSP Mohammad Amin Gatoo (EXK952533), DSP Tang Ahmad Sofi (EXK965596) of the Kashmir Zone, DSP Vijay Kumar Bhagat (EXJ987343) of the Jammu Zone, and DSP Farhana Farooq (JKPS246488) were conferred the DGP’s Commendation Medal and Certificate in recognition of their exemplary and dedicated service.

Among those honoured with the DGP’s Commendation for exemplary service are several Inspectors from different wings and zones of J&K Police. The awardees include Inspector (S) Mohammad Shafi (MEG962413), Inspector Jatinder Singh (EXJ026214), Inspector Sukhbir Singh (ARP046137) of Security, Inspector Parmodh Singh (EXJ085748), Inspector Ravinder Kumar (EXJ109403), Inspector Jaipaul Singh (EXJ109541), Inspector Varuneshwar Singh (EXJ109526) and Inspector Sandeep Singh Chib (EXJ109577), all posted in Jammu Zone.
Also honoured are Inspector Zahir Mushtaq (EXJ109377) of Jammu Zone, Inspector Surinder Singh Nagra (EXJ109594) and Inspector Javed Hussain (ARP109330), both posted at PTTI Vijaypur, Inspector Mohd Rashad (EXJ109544) and Inspector Manpreet Singh (ARP109320) of Jammu Zone, and Inspector Chander Bushan (EXJ109568) from Crime branch.

Further, the list includes Inspector Ankush Jyoti (ARP109333), Inspector Asif Iqbal (EXK109478) of Kashmir Zone, Inspector Shabir Ahmad Beig (ARP115603) of Security wing, and Inspector Nadeem Akber (EXK115600) posted at Police Headquarters (PHQ), in recognition of their dedicated and commendable service during the year 2025.

Among those honoured are Sub-Inspectors including SI Ashok Kumar (EXK881460), SI Balwant Singh (EXJ885562), SI (T) Raminder Singh Sambyal (TEL915557), SI Vijay Kumar (EXJ915466), SI Mohd Ishtaq Gujar (ARP952478), SI Shabir Ahmad (ARP955872), SI Ajay Kumar (ARP971776), SI Mohd Shafi (EXJ986866), SI Parvaiz Ahmad (EXK972680), SI (M) Pardeep Singh (MEG016855) and SI Mohammad Hussain (EXK116561). These officers are presently serving across various wings including Security, Crime, PTTI Vijaypur, Jammu Zone and Kashmir Zone, and have been recognised for their dedication, professionalism and exemplary service during the year 2025.

The others honoured were PSI’s, ASI, HC’s and others

The commendations reflect the force’s appreciation for personnel who displayed exceptional integrity, professionalism and devotion to duty during 2025.

The awards are aimed at boosting morale and encouraging excellence across all ranks of the J&K Police.

DGP, while congratulating the awardees, reiterated the force’s resolve to continue serving the people with dedication, discipline and commitment to the rule of law. (KNC)
