Police said the attached property belongs to Basit Bilal Dar, son of Bilal Ahmad Dar, a resident of Usmania Colony, Wantpora. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 59/2024 registered at Police Station Nowhatta under Sections 8 and 21 of the NDPS Act.

Officials said the attachment was carried out as part of legal proceedings against assets allegedly acquired through illicit drug trade. The move forms part of a broader strategy adopted by Srinagar Police to dismantle the financial networks of drug peddlers and deter others from engaging in the narcotics business.

Police reiterated that properties and assets found to be linked with drug trafficking will be identified and seized strictly in accordance with law. They said such measures are aimed at sending a strong message that involvement in narcotics will invite stringent legal action, including the loss of illegally acquired property.

Further investigation in the case is underway.
