Wreath-Laying Ceremony: DGP leads tributes to SOG man killed in Udhampur encounter

Srinagar, Dec 16: A wreath-laying ceremony was held on Tuesday at District Police Lines Udhampur to pay tribute to Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel Amjad Ali Khan, who was killed during an encounter in Udhampur district late Monday night.

The ceremony was marked by full police honours, with senior officers and fellow personnel gathering to honour the slain policeman.

Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, paid floral tributes and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

Amjad Ali Khan was killed during an encounter with militants in Udhampur. Police officials said the SOG man sustained fatal injuries during the operation and succumbed despite efforts to save him.

A contingent of police personnel presented a ceremonial salute as wreaths were laid on the mortal remains. (KNT)
