Srinagar, Dec 03: Downtown Heroes FC has honoured Azim Parvez, a former academy player of the club, for his remarkable contribution to Indian football as a member of the national team that won the SAFF Cup and secured qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2026, set to take place in Saudi Arabia.

Azim’s achievement marks a monumental milestone not only for Jammu & Kashmir but also for Downtown Heroes FC, as he emerges as one of the region’s brightest examples of talent, discipline, and perseverance. Rising from the grassroots through the Downtown Heroes FC Academy, his inspirational journey continues to motivate young footballers across the valley.

Speaking on the occasion, the club leadership expressed immense pride: “Azim’s success is a testament to the power of opportunity and perseverance. To see a player who trained within our academy structure reach the biggest stages of Asian football is truly a proud moment for the entire Downtown Heroes FC family.”

The Chairman of Downtown Heroes FC Irfan Shahmiri added: “This is a major achievement for our club. It reinforces our mission to prepare the youth of Kashmir for a professional future in sports.”

Downtown Heroes FC also reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing local talent, strengthening youth development, and creating pathways for aspiring players to excel at national and international levels.
