SED announces winter break schedule for schools Kashmir, winter zones of Jammu

Srinagar, Nov 25: School Education Department (SED) on Tuesday announced winter vacation schedule for all Government and recognised private schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division and the winter-zone areas of Jammu.

As per an official order, the winter break for pre-primary classes will begin on November 26 and continue till February 28, 2026. Classes 1 to 8 will close from December 1 to February 28, while the vacation for classes 9 to 12 will remain effective from December 11 to February 22.

The order says that teaching staff must remain available for any academic activity during the break. All teachers have been directed to report back to their respective schools on February 20, 2026, to prepare for reopening. Any violation of the schedule by school heads or staff will invite action under rules.
