UMEED portal is transparant digital system of Waqf Management: Dr Darakhshan

Srinaar, Nov 07: Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board & Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi presided over the UMEED (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development) Portal review meeting of the Ministry of Minority Affairs for Jammu Division.

The meeting was attended by Special Officer Waqf J&K, Administrative Officers and Executive Officers of Jammu Division.

Addressing the meeting Dr Andrabi said that this centralized digital platform for real time uploading, verification and monitoring of Waqf properties is a very effective step towards transparency of Waqf assets throughout the country.

“This digital platform ascertains accountability with public participation in Waqf system. It ensures better responsiveness, transparent leasing through e- governance tools. This portal facilitates geo-tagging of all Waqf properties”, said Dr Darakhshan.

She said that in Jammu and Kashmir, these reformative steps have been taken much earlier thought J&K and we keep on reviewing our performances and management system.

Dr Andrabi was accorded warm welcome on her arrival at Jammu.
