Cabinet to Discuss Reservation Report Response Today

Speaking with reporters after Aga Mehmood filed nomination for Budgam bypoll, the Chief Minister, said that there is nothing more to say on Ruhullah’s support.

“Aga Mehmood has already stated that Aga Ruhullah is like his son. He expects his support for the upcoming assembly by-election. What else can I say on it,” he said.

He also that Congress was offered Nagrota seat despite NC emerging victorious from there in 2014 elections and fielding it’s candidate in last assembly election. “Since Congress denied to field its candidate, the party has fielded Shameema Begum, who filed her nomination papers today,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the party president, after threadbare discussion with leaders, nominated Aga Mehmood for Budgam seat, which party believes is the right choice. “There was no delay in nominating the candidate as almost all the candidates filed their nomination papers today itself. Like other parties, we also took a decision strategically,” he added. (KNO)
