Sgr admin issues advisory amid forecast of inclement weather

Srinagar, Sep 01: The district administration has issued an advisory in wake of the forecast of an inclement weather conditions, advising the people to refrain from venturing in and around the slopes and water bodies.

The advisory, a copy of which lies with INS reads that in view of the inclement weather with a forecast of Heavy/intense showers accompanied with gusty winds over some parts of Kashmir Division including Srinagar District from 31st August to 1 September 2025, by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar Station, the people of the district in general and those residing at Fakir Gujri, its adjacent areas and Khonmouh area in particular are advised to refrain from venturing in and around the slopes and water bodies until the weather improves.

Further, the Tourists, local Shikara Wallas, are advised to suspend their activities at Dal and Nigeen Lakes. The Sand Miners, at River Jhelum, and other water bodies shall not attempt to cross before verifying the condition and situation of Jhelum and its tributaries.

The general public can contact District Emergency Operation Centre Srinagar, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Srinagar and Police Control Room Srinagar for any information.
