The Indian legislative delegation to the summit is being facilitated by National Legislators’ Conference Bharat (NLC Bharat)—a pioneering and non-partisan initiative aimed at building the capacity of Indian lawmakers and promoting democratic cooperation at both national and international levels.

Arjun Singh Raju is part of a historic delegation comprising over 130 MLAs and MLCs from 24 states and 21 political parties, marking the largest-ever Indian legislative presence at a global democratic forum. The participation of such a diverse and sizable group underscores India’s deepening commitment to strengthening democracy through dialogue, collaboration, and cross-border knowledge exchange.

While interacting with media in Jammu, Raju expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm, stating:

“It is a proud moment to represent my state and constituency at a global platform like NCSL. This initiative is not just about international exposure—it is about learning from global best practices in governance and bringing those insights back to serve our people more effectively. I am especially thankful to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, for reposing his trust in me and nominating me to be a part of this prestigious conference.”

During the three-day summit, the Indian delegation will engage with more than 7,000 lawmakers from across the world, participating in high-level discussions on pressing global challenges such as AI in governance, digital democracy, cybersecurity, voter trust, and policy innovation. The summit will also offer academic sessions on U.S. legislative systems and foster engagement with Indian-origin leaders in government, business, and academia.

This landmark participation by Indian legislators at NCSL reflects the evolving vision of Bharat’s democratic leadership—one that values continuous learning, fosters global partnerships, and proudly represents India on the world stage with integrity and purpose.
